[Final Fantasy IX] Tended With Care

Summary: Garnet finds strength in healing.
The poetry-chanting wolves of the Ice Cavern are devastating. Even as Steiner finishes it off, Garnet starts the process of healing the awful gashes they left on Zidane.
He tries to foist it off as nothing. "Just a smile and I'll be right as rain," he says, but he winces when he moves his arm, and she isn't fooled.
When she grasps his arm to place the spell,his skin is warm even through her gloves, and the magic makes her heart beat faster.
She looks up to see him watching her, and maybe it isn't just the magic.
