He was a good king, but even kings need time away from the cares of castle and crown. So every now and again they left the running of Eblan to Gramps and slipped away to a quiet, secluded spot by the river. She lay in a field of wildflowers and sang songs dimly remembered from Mist or just listened while he played idly on his harp. He had a surprisingly delicate way with music, soft and sweet, and she savoured those quiet days when they could just be themselves, just Edge and Rydia, whiling their time away in the sunlight.
