It doesn't storm often in Alexandria, but when it does, it's a violent cataclysm of blinding lightning and crashing thunder. The entire population of the city seems to vanish, hiding behind shuttered windows and doors until the pounding torrents of rain slow and then still.
Beatrix likes the sense of potential right before a storm, and she often stands alone atop the tallest tower of the castle, letting the rain beat down on her until she's soaking wet. It's a good place to think troubled thoughts and let them be washed away, to be clean and new in the aftermath.
