[Final Fantasy IX] Luxury
Pairing: Beatrix/Garnet

Notes: Written for the October 2008 round of IJareyougame
Summary: This is her one luxury, for all that she is queen.

Garnet sank deep into the hot, scented water and sighed. It seemed, sometimes, that these few moments in the bath was all the peace she could find amid the chaos of trying to rebuild Alexandria.
She heard the faint slosh of water as Beatrix scooped it up and poured it over her hair. Closing her eyes, she leaned her head back and let the general work the soap through her hair. Beatrix's hands were gentle as she worked the soap into a lather.
Beatrix said nothing, simply gave her the indulgence of silence and the luxury of compassion.
Garnet smiled.
