"When you said you had a new book for me, this is not quite what I thought of," Ezio says.
Sofia studies her handiwork, the knots firm but something she—or he—could undo in seconds if necessary, and smiles. "There are all kinds of interesting things in it," she says. "This is only one."
She takes her time with him, and later, when they lie together as the sweat dries on their skin, he kisses her forehead. "I would like to see more pages of this book," he says, and Sofia knows her answering grin is sharp.
