Character: Lulu
Rating: G
Contains: Spoilers
Notes: Sort of falls after "Winds of Change."
Wordcount: 173
Summary: "No matter how dark the night, dawn always comes, and our journey begins anew."
Beta: None
Lulu woke suddenly, not sure what had pulled her from sleep to wakefulness. The morning sun streamed in her window, and outside she heard the familiar noises of Besaid Village going about its everyday business. There was a new energy to the sounds, as people hoped and planned their lives free from the threat of Sin.
On the other side of the room, Yuna stirred. Lulu glanced at her and smiled indulgently. Let her sleep; she'd earned it.
She walked to the door and opened it quietly, looking out over the village. From force of habit her eyes turned to the nearby cliffs, where she and Chappu had laughed and loved and planned in all their youthful passion. She had gone there last night, to say her goodbyes. She would never forget him, but the time had come to move on.
She walked out to face a new day with a smile on her face. They had defeated Sin. After that, she could handle anything.
The morning light was warm on her face.
