[Final Fantasy IV] Wrack and Ruin

Characters: Scarmiglione
Rating: G
Contains: N/A
Wordcount: 100
Notes: Written for the prompt "the next morning, the world belonged to the zombies"
Betas: N/A
Summary: This land reeked of freshness and growth.

This land reeks of freshness and growth. It is overrun with life, hideous and grasping, spreading itself around and growing, always growing, always claiming new space for itself.
Scarmiglione's rotted lips curl as he oozes up the mountain. Here, at least, the life is less abundant, owing to the realities of harsh stone. Instead, deliciously rotted death awaits, the bodies of those who tested themselves against the mountain and lost.

He is come to hold the peak fast, so Scarmiglione calls the corpses, raises them to his service, and conquers the mountain.

Someday, he will conquer life itself.

Nice and creepy. Love the line about conquering the mountain. It makes Scarmiglione feel like a force of nature, which I'm all about.

The four fiends as twisted Eidolons is a very interesting head canon! I'd love to see that explored more.
