Sometimes, when he's exhausted from carrying out the sorceress's endless and constantly contradicting orders, when he's curled up in his bed too tired to move but he can't sleep, he remembers that summer. She was so different from the SeeD cadets, soft and sweet and so eager to please. He loved the way she laughed, the way she dragged him all over Timber and Galbadia on various "missions" for her Forest Owls, and how she always knew exactly how to deal with his surly moods. He misses her, misses that wonderful sweetness, and instead he has cold magic and power.
