The trial is a farce. Everyone in the room knows the verdict before her court-martial is called to order. Leo taught her to act with honour, and what the Empire is doing is not an honourable thing. She sees in Leo's eyes that he recognizes it, but she knows that his own honour will not permit him to give any verdict but "guilty."
She was trying to avoid more bloodshed, but Gestahl chooses to make a statement by slaughtering four villages. She knows it is to punish her for her betrayal.
Gestahl sentences her to die on her eighteenth birthday.
