It's the last day of the term, and her students are restless. Isako doesn't blame them; they all want the freedom of the spring vacation, and the curriculum is complete. She settles for keeping them quiet enough that Ekoda-san won't lecture her later.

When the day ends, her students come by her desk to pick up their final essays. Minato-kun is the last of them, and he seems distracted. She gives him the essay, and their fingers touch. He seems not to notice.

Isako wonders what might have been, if she had acted on impulse.

Minato-kun leaves. She'll never know.

Found this via megaten. I really like this little snippet - this pairing really fascinates me, and I was glad to see this drabble pop onto my friend's list. It's written very well for such a tiny little snapshot of time, and I think it works well with Toriumi's personality. Good job!

It definitely worked. :] I'm just getting in to Persona 3 fandom as well (I'm actually not finished with the game - currently fighting Nyx, however!), so it's been fun searching out fanfic. Carefully, might I add, in an attempt to avoid spoilers.
