They do not speak at first, but fall into the bunk in a tangle of limbs, the only sounds the rustle of clothing, the sharp catch of breath, the faint creak of the mattress when they move.
Later, she rests her head on his shoulder and bites her lips on the words she would say before they go off to fight Sin tomorrow.
As though he reads her mind, he combs his fingertips through her braids. "I have fought Sin a long time," he says.
Lulu nods, and promises herself that she will shed no tears tomorrow, no matter what.
