Characters: Garnet
Rating: G
Contains: Endgame spoilers
Wordcount: 100
Notes: Written for the prompt "mother"
Betas: N/A
Summary: Garnet takes the crown.
This crown was Brahne's, and her mother's before her, and her great-grandmother's, in unbroken line to Alexandria's founding—except that the line is broken.
Garnet bears the title, but not the bloodline, of Queen of Alexandria.
She had asked Beatrix whether she should even take the crown. Her general's answer had been calm and detailed, the many things that she could do as Queen to benefit the land, and the many things that could go wrong if she did not take it.
Only she and her traveling companions know the truth.
Garnet takes its weight on her brow.
