Everyone sees the warrior, the focus and intensity that drives Beatrix to be the best in the Alexandrian army—indeed, in the world. But as beautiful as Beatrix is with a blade in her hand and the tense anticipation of combat wrapped around her like armour, Garnet thinks she is even more beautiful here. She rests in the water with her eyes closed and her long hair swaying upon the water's surface. Here, the warrior is gentle, and Garnet leans in close to kiss her, savouring the scent of vanilla and lavender with each breath.
