Character(s): Gabranth
Rating: G
Contains: Spoilers through Barheim Passage
Wordcount: 100
Notes: Written for the prompt "delivered on a silver platter"
Betas: N/A
Summary: Gabranth has been given a task, and he meets expectations.
Gabranth steps forward, coldly secure in his role, to stab the child and speak his lines. He gives good account of himself when the soldiers seize him, but ultimately without success, as planned.
"Well, so much for peaceful negotiations," Lord Vayne says.
He gathers up eighteen years of unspent rage and hurls it at the Emperor's son, until the soldiers wrestle him away, still spitting curses.
Lord Vayne exits the room and meets his eyes. "It seems you delivered as promised, Judge Magister: Dalmasca on a silver platter."
Gabranth bows, and for the first time since Landis fell, feels safe.
